La Plata, MD – The Maryland State Fire Marshall reported that a citizen traveling on Old Washington Road in Waldorf Thursday, Dec. 4, noticed smoke coming from a house located at 2565 Old Washington Road.
Thirteen members from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire in approximately five minutes.
The fire was located in a second-floor closet.
Maryland Deputy State Fire Marshall Don Brenneman responded to the home owned by George Grinder.
Damage to the residence was estimated at $100.
The investigation is continuing.
