St. James Fire Dispatched by Local Fire Departments
At approximately 10:47 p.m., on Sunday, March 22, fire units from Pax River, Bay District, and Ridge responded to a fire at 49527 Carroll Road in St. James. The call reported that back of the house was on fire. Units arrived with smoke showing.

The fire was knocked down at approximately 11 p.m. and by 11:05 p.m., units were checking for any extensions to the fire and found none.

The chief on the scene and the fire marshal discussed the fire over the phone and it was determined that the fire marshal did not need to respond.

Norris Road Fire Handled Quickly

At approximately 9 p.m., on March 23, volunteer fire units from Bay District, Hollywood, and Lexington Park were called to a house fire at 45545 Norris Road in Great Mills. Reports are that the attic was involved and there was heavy smoke visible from multiple areas of the structure.

The occupants of the house escaped without injury.

By 9:10 the fire was knocked down and units called for fans and lights to perform a check of the structure. The fire was declared out at 9:17 p.m.
