BEL ALTON, Md. – On January 1 at approximately 1 p.m., crews from the Bel Alton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire located on the 9000 block of Crystal Lane in Bel Alton.
The Maryland Fire Marshal’s Office reports that an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the secure residence and attempted to ignite a fire within the house using an ignitable liquid. The fire was then discovered in the living area by the occupant, Brenda Maddox who called the fire department. The estimated cost of damage is reported to be $500 for structural damage and $1,000 for contents damaged.
