Tenants of the St. Mary’s Square near Gloria’s Pawn Shop had quite a scare on Thursday, March 3 after an electrical malfunction brought several fire and rescue units to the scene.
Bay District firefighters responded to report of a commerical building fire around 11:30 a.m. located at 21600 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park with reports of fire in a storage room.
Units arrived on scene to discover smoke in the building and smoke coming from the roof.
Investigation revealed a malfunctioning light ballast fell on some combustible materials causing the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
