Ridge, MD— This past weekend the St. Mary’s County community celebrated the holidays with the Annual First District Christmas Tree Lighting. This event was held at Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and had many festive activities going on.ย
Santa and Mrs.Claus were delivered by a parade of fire trucks to all the happy children with their parents. Christmas carolers were singing Christmas classics to all the masses who attended. One lucky young person who won a local essay contest assisted in the tree lighting ceremony with Santa and Mrs.Claus.ย
The Ridge Lions Club was collecting canned food items at the door and also they were handing out tickets for door prizes. Children had the opportunity to have their faces painted while parents enjoyed all the arts and crafts on display.ย
The main attraction was sitting on Santa’s or Mrs.Claus’s lap. When the wait was finally over the children had the opportunity to let Santa know what they (children) wanted for Christmas.ย
