The criminal investigations divisions of St. Mary’s and Charles County sheriff’s offices executed a search warrant Oct. 20 that resulted in the arrest of four men and a woman in connection with an auto theft spree Aug. 29 in St. Mary’s County.

On Aug. 29 , the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) assumed the investigation of a large amount of thefts from motor vehicles at residences in the Mechanicsville and Hollywood areas of St. Mary’s County.

Numerous items had been stolen from their vehicles during the night, police say, and the estimated value of the stolen items from all victims was more than $3,000. In addition, it was discovered a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen in Charlotte Hall during the night and abandoned near the scenes of the vehicle break-ins.

Detectives says they developed several suspects and the investigation lead them into Charles County.

On Oct. 20, detectives from BCI and from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) executed a Search and Seizure Warrant at the suspects’ residence located in Waldorf.

Numerous items of stolen property belonging to the victims in St. Mary’s County were recovered inside the residence, and detectives learned a total of five suspects were involved in the August 29th crime spree.

Arrested for the crimes were Chas Michael Coady, 19; Robert Anthony Trinidad, 20; Kristen Nicole Scola, 21; Michael Howard Williams Jr., 18; and Dominic Deveraux Johnson, 19.

ย 

They were charged with motor vehicle theft; theft scheme over $500; three counts of felony theft; four counts of misdemeanor theft; one count of destruction of property under $500; and a credit card violation.

ย 

The suspects are currently detained in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
