Evening to Feature Author Nikki Payne, Immersive Experiences, Celebrity Bartenders and Live Auction
ANNAPOLIS – The Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) Foundation announced today that tickets are now on sale for its annual For the Love of the Library fundraiser, taking place Friday, September 18, from 6–9 p.m. at the Michel E. Busch Annapolis Library. Proceeds support the library’s greatest needs, helping AACPL connect the community through lifelong learning and access to resources.
The cocktail-style event will feature bestselling author Nikki Payne, catering by The Palate Pleasers, libations, immersive library-themed experiences, a wine, whiskey and mystery book pull, celebrity bartenders, a live auction and paddle raise. Featured live auction packages include a private tour of the William Paca or Bryce House followed by an upscale dining experience at Summerhouse; a Washington Capitals VIP package with four premium seats, luxury transportation and Capitals merchandise; and a curated wellness package featuring FS8, Toastique and more.
Early bird tickets are $100 through September 8 and increase to $125 beginning September 9. Last year’s event was sold out, so guests are encouraged to purchase tickets early. Corporate partnership opportunities are available at three levels: Bestsellers ($5,000), Page-turners ($2,500), and Story Makers ($1,000). Partnership benefits include recognition in Library Happenings, AACPL’s quarterly publication, and visibility across the library system’s 16 branches.
Last year’s For the Love of the Library fundraiser raised more than $162,000 to support initiatives such as kindergarten readiness, teen programming, and lifelong learning for adults—surpassing the 2024 event, which raised $150,000.
