Just before 1 p.m. Monday, traffic was brought to a halt on St. Andrews Church Road in California after a crash at the intersection with Wildewood Parkway.
Volunteer firefighters and rescue squads from Lexington Park and Hollywood were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters pried open a door to free one patient from a vehicle.
Minutes later, three Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad ambulances took four people to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
