A number of local business people were โlocked upโ on Wednesday, August 25 to help raise money for Jerryโs Kidsโ and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Jeffrey Morgan and Michelle Wood-Messick picked up the business people from their offices throughout St Maryโs County in limos provided by Legacy Limousines Inc. and delivered them to Outback Steakhouse in California where they were โprocessed and booked.โ The business people then proceeded to call their co-workers, family and friends for โbail moneyโ to help the cause.
Some people who participated included Todd Morgan from SAIC, The Dorsey law Firm, Trails End Pet Sitting, Tonya Zugg from Aranea Solutions and others.
The leading company in money earned for the MDA was Smartronix in Hollywood, where John Parris led the charge with his company bringing in over $10,000 for the cause. Parris told TheBAYNET.com that many in his company donated by voluntary payroll deductions and the owners of Smartronix then matched the employees dollar for dollar.

Nadine Pottinga, fundraising coordinator for MDA, Inc, stated that it was a โvery exciting day for their organization and was ecstatic about the amount raised by Smartronics and all the other companies involved.โ
The MDA telethon continues its tradition with their television broadcasts over the Labor Day weekend. For more information on how you can help go to www.mda.org
