GoFundMe Created After Family Loses Home To Fire In Hughesville

HUGHESVILLE, Md. – On February 18, 2024, a family of four was displaced after a fire destroyed their Hughesville home. Now, community members are coming together to help the family get back on their feet.

The fire broke out around 4:07 a.m. at a one-story house in the 16000 block of Overhill Way. The homeowner called 911, reporting his house was on fire and he was trying to evacuate everyone. Another 911 call came in from a neighbor, stating the house was fully engulfed in flames.

“Early Sunday morning our family received terrifying news that our eldest aunt Erniestine’s house burnt down, with all of her things inside including a lifetime of memories,” said Adrianna Goldring on the GoFundMe page. “By the grace of God, Aunt Ernie’s two children, grandson, and herself made it out unharmed, but the damage is unmanageable.”
