O’Leary’s Seafood Of Annapolis Will Close On August 2

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Longtime Annapolis seafood restaurant O’Leary’s announced its closure on social media this week.

O’Leary’s owner Wil Peterson wrote in a Facebook post that the restaurant will be closing its doors due to the loss of its lease. O’Leary’s opened in 1983, and Peterson wrote that the closure was not his decision and was not “the ending I ever imagined or hoped for” after serving the community for more than 40 years.

“To every customer who walked through our doors, and especially to our loyal customers who stood by us year after year, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Whether you shared a meal with us, celebrated milestones here, brought family and friends to our tables, or simply made us part of your routine, your kindness, loyalty, laughter, and support have meant more to me than I can ever fully put into words,” Peterson wrote.

The last day for O’Leary’s will be Aug. 2, and Peterson said in the same post that the restaurant plans to schedule a staff appreciation night, where all proceeds will go directly to staff.

O’Leary’s is located on Third Street in Annapolis’ Eastport neighborhood. The restaurant is known for its charming decor and unique food and drink menu, including a daily whole-fish market special and whole lobster. Fans of the restaurant praise the fresh menu and intimate atmosphere.
