ย The Great Mills High School freshman basketball team gained their 11th win of the season Friday night, defeating Leonardtown, 58-30.

ย Great Millsโ€™ freshmen are undefeated, with five games left in the season.

ย After the game, Great Mills head coach Jerry Humphrey said โ€œwe had hustle, dedication and determination.โ€

ย Great Mills junior varsity basketball was not as lucky, dropping their game to Leonardtown, 52-46.

ย After the game, Great Mills head coach Don Teston said, โ€œWe played as a team.โ€

โ€œVery intense and hard,โ€ added Keith Owens, assistant coach.

ย When asked to describe the game in a few words, Leonardtown JV head coach Jamie Copsey said: โ€œIntensive, Rivalry, and hustle.”

ย The Great Mills varsity team had a come from behind win after trailing most of the game, topping Leonardtown 54-49.

ย Leonardtown was leading at the end of each the first three quarters, but not the one that counts.

ย The high scorer for Great Mills was Zach Sawyer (14), with 18 points.

ย After the game, Great Mills head coach Frank Peck said: โ€œWe played under control the second half.โ€
