St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks would like to inform the public that the Great Mills Swimming Pool will re-open on Saturday, May 23, from May 23 through June 14, the pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The Great Mills Swimming Pool temporarily closes two weeks each spring for seasonal maintenance and to remove the air supported “bubble” structure.
The summer hours of operation will begin on Monday, June 15, as follows:
• Monday – Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Great Mills Swimming Pool provides opportunities for recreational, therapeutic, instructional and competitive swimming for all ages. The 25 yard x 25 meter pool includes six lanes and has a “zero depth” entry for maximum accessibility. The facility’s bathhouse includes showers, lockers, restrooms and a lifeguard room; a toddler pool is also part of the aquatic facility and is open during the summer months.
