
HANOVER, Md. — A woman was injured Friday night, June 20, 2025, after an exchange of gunfire between two vehicles near the busy Arundel Mills shopping district.
Officers were dispatched around 8 p.m. to Arundel Mills Boulevard near Arundel Way, where they found several vehicles damaged by gunfire. A 21-year-old woman, who authorities said was not involved in the confrontation, was struck in the upper body. She was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Firefighters arrived quickly to assist with medical care before the woman was taken for further treatment. The area, typically bustling with weekend traffic, was cordoned off as investigators canvassed the scene.
Police believe occupants of two vehicles were shooting at each other when the woman was caught in the crossfire. Both vehicles fled before officers arrived.
Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District are leading the investigation, which remains active.
