
St. Maryโs City, MD โ The St. Maryโs College of Maryland chamber singers with orchestra under the direction of Larry Vote, professor of music, will perform Handelโs โMessiahโ on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. The concert will be held in the Auerbach Auditorium of St. Maryโs Hall, 47458 Trinity Church Road. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
The โMessiahโ concert is an annual event offered by the Department of Music. โMessiahโ is an oratorio composed by George Frideric Handel in 1741. It is Handel’s most famous work and among the most popular works in Western choral literature.
The chamber singers with orchestra will perform all ofย Part 1 known as the โChristmas Portionโ plus the โHallelujah Chorusโ from Part 2 and โI Know that Redeemer Livethโ and โWorthy is the Lambโ from Part 3.
St. Maryโs College of Maryland is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education through 2024-2025.
