Solomons, MD – Itโ€™s time for the Bugeye Ball at the Calvert Marine Museum.

Located at 14200 Solomons Island Road in Solomons, the museum is inviting the community to celebrate an evening of fine cuisine, live music and casino-style gambling starting at 7 p.m. on April 23.ย

Tickets are $150 each, and proceeds will support the preservation and maintenance of the historic Wm. B. Tennison, according to Traci Cimini, with the museumโ€™s public relations and marketing office.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for the chance to win a Dinner Cruise on the Chesapeake or jewelry from Dickinson Jewelers. The event theme, Sea of Beauty, features Ken Upton of Kenโ€™s Creative Kitchen, elegant dรฉcor, and more, said Cimini.

โ€œWe also have many other surprised planned for guests,โ€ said Cimini. โ€œThey are also welcome to purchase a raffle ticket for the chance to win a dinner cruise. Itโ€™s aboard the 87โ€™ luxurious sailing yacht, Quixote, and features dinner prepared by Kenโ€™s Creative Kitchen.โ€

Ten guests will be pampered by the first-class chef and his professional team while taste buds are tantalized with perfectly paired foods and wines, said Cimini.

โ€œThe raffle winner may also choose from a collection of hand-selected fine jewelry beautifully crafted with fine metals and precious stones from Dickinson Jewelers,โ€ said Cimini. โ€œTwo winners will be drawn and the first winner in attendance will have first choice. Raffle tickets are $100 each and only 150 will be sold. Winners need not be present to win.โ€

Funds raised through this event will go towards the preservation and maintenance of the Wm. B. Tennison, built in 1899. It is the only Coast Guard licensed, log-hulled, passenger-carrying vessel in the United States, said Cimini.

โ€œThe vessel served as an oyster buyboat until 1978 and has been designated a National Historic Landmark,โ€ said Cimini. โ€œWhile the Tennison is in remarkably good condition for being 117 years old, like any aging wooden vessel, it requires a great deal of maintenance which is labor intensive and challenging. Your support will help the museum keep this iconic landmark treasure afloat.โ€

Business and personal sponsorships ranging from $250 – $10,000 are also available, said Cimini.
