Leonardtown, MD — The Behavioral Health Action Team (BHAT) of the Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership is looking for ways to better improve programs offered to young people in the community.

BHAT is looking for input from groups that provide youth mentoring services in the county.

“Youth mentoring programs are proven to be a key prevention and intervention strategy that positively impacts the lives of children and youth,” said Maryellen Kraese, BHAT member and Prevention Administrator at the St. Mary’s County Health Department.

Representatives from mentoring programs are invited to participate in a round table discussion on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in Meeting Room B at the Lexington Park Library.

This round table will focus on identifying:

  • Successful ideas for mentoring programs
  • Understanding the needs of local youth mentoring programs
  • Opportunities for BHAT partner organizations and youth mentoring programs to work together

Participants should go to www.ymrt.eventbrite.com to register. Tickets are not required but registration is appreciated to make sure there is adequate seating available.
