Dunkirk,MD— On Jan.26 Calvert County Sheriff’s Officer Dfc. Ward and multiple officers responded to Lyons Glen Court in Dunkirk for a burglary report.ย
According to charging documents, “While on the way to the call, dispatch informed us that the subject was currently being detained by the homeowners and no weapons appear to be involved.”ย
The suspect was identified as Nicholas Walter Davis, 24, of Dunkirk. Officers learned that he (Davis) had open warrants in Anne Arundel County.ย
“Davis was dressed in a camouflage jacket, jeans, white tennis shoes, with orange and white rubber gloves on his hands,” according to charging documents.ย
“I (Ward) also identified the victims/homeowners as active duty members of the United States Navy. The victim saw Davis come out of the office room in the house that is connectedย to the bedroom,” according to charging documents.ย
One of the victims was able to, “tackle Davis into the living room, the victim was able to utilize submission techniques learned through the U.S. Military training and was able to get Davis on the floor face down,” according to charging documents.ย
Davisย was charged with single counts of first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary theft, fourth-degree burglary dwelling, fourth-degree burglary with tools, possession of controlled dangerous substance administering equipment, theft valued less than $1,000 and malicious destruction of property valued less than $1,000.ย
Davis has a court date scheduled for Feb.8 at the Calvert County District Court. Davis faces a maximum jail sentence of forty-four years and eight months and or a maximum fine of $26,000.ย
