ANNAPOLIS, Md. The House Republican Caucus today issued the following statement regarding Governor Moore’s proposed budget cuts.

“After 338 increases in taxes and fees over the last year and a half, we applaud the Governor’s actions to not increase spending or taxes in this instance,” said House Minority Leader Jason Buckel. “However, it is important to note these are not true budget cuts – they are essentially a diversion of funds from other priorities rather than really saving any money for future budget shortfalls.”

“It is encouraging that the Moore Administration is not calling for more taxes or more fees in this instance, but these budget actions are not exactly an act of courage,” said House Minority Whip Jesse Pippy. “Just a few weeks ago Governor Moore announced the resurrection of the Red Line, something that will dry up our already-scarce transportation dollars. Only 10 days ago, the latest round of fee hikes went into effect. It is going to take more than swapping dollars around to address our fiscal challenges. There must be an acknowledgment that some of these grand promises, like the Red Line and the Blueprint, are not financially realistic.”

  1. They can shove the latest increase in the cigarette tax where the sun doesn’t shine
If Maryland keeps this up they will be left with nothing but illegals who probably get them for free or steal them

  2. look over the MGA website, the e-mail addresses of the members are there, so we can write them. Look on the US Congress website, the e-mail addresses are not there, only forms. Why does Congress feel like they shouldn’t have their e-mail addresses on their website?
