Lusby, MD โ State investigators have determined that a problem within the electrical wiring of a house under renovation started a late evening fire Wednesday, May 25 that damaged the structure. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the fire at the two-story, single family dwelling resulted in $50,000 damage.
โThe fire was the result of an electrical occurrence involving the wiring within the basement,โ the fire marshalโs report stated. โThe house was under renovation and unoccupied at the time of the fire.โ
Forty firefighters responded to the one-alarm blaze around 10:30 p.m. The fire was discovered by a passerby. Crews brought the fire under control in 10 minutes.
State officials identified the homeowner as Mary Ida Rolape.

Lusby, MD – Several area fire departments were dispatched Wednesday evening, May 25 to a house fire at a home located on H.G. Trueman Road near Chesapeake Hills Golf Club. The call went out around 11:30 p.m.
According to a report posted on the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department (Company 3) web site, crews found a one-story rambler “with heavy fire through the roof.”
One firefighter was injured, receiving minor burns. The injured firefighter was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
According to Norman Rae of Company 3, an investigation determined that the cause of the fire “was electrical in nature.”
Lusby, MD (10:40 pm) –ย A house fire has been reported on HG Trueman Road in Lusby. Units are on the scene with reports of heavy fire.
