Due to Hurricane Sandy the Household Hazardous Waste Collection event, originally scheduled for this Saturday, November 3, has be rescheduled for Saturday, December 1.
The event will take place at the St. Andrews Landfill, located ¼ mile west of the MD 4 and MD 235 intersection in California, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Hazardous waste items which will be accepted for collection include Acids, Ammonia, Bleach, Cleaners, Fuels, Gas/Oil Mixtures, Gasoline, Household and Lawn Pesticides, Mercury Thermometers, Paint, Paint Thinners, Photography Chemicals, Pool Chemicals, Solvents, and Wood Preservatives.
Items which will not be accepted include Ammunition, Asbestos, Explosive Materials, Medical Waste, Pharmaceuticals, Radioactive Materials, and Picric Acid.
