SOLOMONS, Md. — A Texas man was charged with disorderly conduct and intoxicated public disturbance after deputies responded to a reported assist-sick call in Solomons and said he became belligerent with EMS personnel and officers.

Anthony Lee Dross Jr., 27, of Houston, Texas, is charged with disorderly conduct and intoxicated public disturbance.

A Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded on May 29, 2026, to 120 Charles Street in Solomons after the Calvert County Control Center received a report that a man had fallen into the water at that location and cut his face. Bystanders reportedly removed him from the water.

The man was later identified as Dross. The deputy reported that Dross had difficulty standing on his own, was swaying while standing and had red, glassy and bloodshot eyes. The deputy also reported smelling a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

Dross told authorities he had been at The Tiki Bar, 105 Charles Street, but was unable to tell anyone how he had been hurt, charging documents state. EMS was called to assess him.

Bystanders reported Dross had been seen with a female earlier and that the two had been yelling at each other. They also reported she had been seen inside a vehicle parked at 120 Charles Street.

The deputy located the woman in a vehicle, and after some time, she was able to call for a ride. While speaking with her, the deputy said he could hear Dross becoming belligerent with EMS and other officers.

According to charging documents, Dross raised his voice and said he was not afraid of being arrested and had been to jail before. Because the woman was on the phone arranging a ride, the deputy placed her car keys in the trunk of her vehicle and returned to Dross.

EMS was attempting to get Dross’ name to complete its assessment, but he allegedly refused to provide it. EMS and officers told Dross that providing his name was the last part of the assessment and that he would be able to leave afterward, charging documents state.

Dross continued refusing to provide information to EMS, and a crowd began forming in the area, blocking people from getting in or out of the parking area, according to the report.

Dross was arrested for disorderly conduct and intoxicated public disturbance and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center without incident.

Court records show Dross was released on recognizance following a bail review on May 30, 2026.

A trial is set for July 29, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
