Units from Hughesville, Benedict, Mechanicsville, Prince Frederick and Waldorf Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fire in Hughesville, minutes before midnight Sunday night.
Arron Toye, owner of the single story wood framed dwelling, notified officials of a fire that started on the front porch of his property.
The one-alarm fire took the firefighters about 15 minutes to get under control and caused about $10,000 worth of damage.
