Amaria Jenkins

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County Public Schools is proud to recognize Huntingtown High School student Amaria Jenkins for earning seventh place in the nation in Human Resources Management at the 2026 Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference, held June 29 through July 2 in San Antonio, Texas.

The conference welcomed more than 16,100 students, advisers and business leaders from across the country, making it the largest annual gathering of future business leaders worldwide. Students qualified for the national competition by advancing through rigorous regional and state-level competitive events.

This marks Jenkins’ second consecutive national Top 10 finish. In 2025, she also earned seventh place nationally in Organizational Leadership, making her one of the state’s most consistent FBLA competitors.

“Amaria’s accomplishment reflects an extraordinary level of commitment, preparation, and professionalism,” said Huntingtown High School FBLA Adviser Lynne Gillis. “She is one of the hardest-working students at Huntingtown High School, and her success is well deserved. We are incredibly proud of the way she represents our school, our community, and Maryland on the national stage.”

Jenkins will serve as president of the Huntingtown High School FBLA Chapter during the 2026-2027 school year, continuing her commitment to developing leadership skills while encouraging fellow students to participate in FBLA’s wide range of competitive events in business, technology, communications, finance, public speaking and leadership.

Calvert County Public Schools offers the Business Management and Entrepreneurship Career and Technical Education program at all four comprehensive high schools. FBLA is the nationally recognized Career and Technical Student Organization that complements these programs by providing students with opportunities to apply their classroom learning through leadership development, competitive events, career exploration and real-world workforce experiences. While FBLA is co-curricular with the district’s business CTE programs, participation is open to all students, regardless of whether they are enrolled in business courses.
