On March 31, at 8:53 a.m., Tpr. J. Pilkerton was patrolling Thompson Corner Road, in the area of Millwood Lane in Mechanicsville, when he observed a black Lincoln exceeding the posted speed limit.
The vehicle was stopped and contact with the driver, Donald Frederick Anderson, Jr., 31 of Mechanicsville, was made. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Anderson was found in possession of a silver and black Taurus 357 handgun. Anderson was also found to be in possession of a baggie of marijuana, prescription bottle containing marijuana, a partially burnt marijuana cigarette and a metal CDS smoking device.
Anderson was arrested for possession of Marijuana, CDS paraphernalia and a handgun violation. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
