California, MD – The inaugural Kingston Creek Art Fest will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 23720 West Patuxent Beach Road, California, Maryland.
Located on Wayne Russell’s boyhood home overlooking beautiful Kingston Creek, this small festival features artists from St. Mary’s County and Fredericksburg, VA, where Russell currently resides.
Artists include Wayne Russell (oil paintings of local Southern Maryland and other subjects); Mary Lou Troutman (acrylic paintings and prints of iconic Southern Maryland landmarks and other subjects); Eduardo King (oil paintings of cows, barns and other subjects); N.D. Jones (watercolors of coral reefs, water scenes, and other subjects); Jenn Goddard (sea glass jewelry and alphabet photography); and Therese Vogel (jewelry and exotic nail polishes).
The event is meant to celebrate the rich water history of Kingston Creek and will include Americana music by Gary Rue and Jeff Farias from 12-3 p.m.
In addition, food and beverages will be provided for sale by Linda’s Cafe (a local institution in old town Lexington Park) with her new “Linda’s on the Go” food truck from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Located at the base of the Solomon’s Bridge off Route 4 on the St. Mary’s County side, this art fest event is free.
