Inmate was seen striking the victim in the face with a closed fist

Leonardtown MD— 11-7-2015 – Deputy First Class J. Kirkner responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, for the report of an assault.

The suspect, Aaron R. Simms, age 26, of Fort Washington, was observed pushing another inmate into a wall. Approximately 45-minutes later, Simms was seen striking the victim in the face with a closed fist. Simms was charged with Two Counts of Second Degree Assault and Two Counts of Assaulting a DOC Employee.
