Inner Equinox In Solomons Announces Permanent Closure

SOLOMONS, Md. — Inner Equinox, a cultural gift store in Solomons, announced on Facebook on Nov. 24 that it will permanently close its doors on Dec. 31 of this year.

The store, located at 14560 Solomons Island Road, sells gifts and holistic services for body, mind and spirit, according to its social media. It carries a selection of crystals, along with incense, essential oils, statues, candles, clothing and jewelry.

The post also said that all merchandise is now 25% off and the sale will continue until the closure. The store will be open seven days a week until Dec. 31, with the exception of holiday hours. Regular store hours through the closing date are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Inner Equinox opened more than two decades ago and has been a core part of the Solomons business community ever since. The owners did not give a reason for the closure on Facebook and did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

Customers responded to the closure online, commenting about their love for the shop and how it provided a much-needed space for holistic goods.

“So sad to hear this. I love your little enchanted space… and will miss its presence on Solomons Island,” wrote one user.

Inner Equinox’s closure will leave a gap in the area for a holistic store — it was the only store of its kind on Solomons Island, and those looking for healing crystals or other metaphysical supplies will have to drive to other locations in Calvert or over to St. Mary’s County after the store closes.
