Insurance adjusters are expected Tuesday to access the damage caused by the collapse of a small section of the ceiling at McKayโ€™s Market and Cafe in Hollywood. According to McKayโ€™s President Tommy McKay the collapse was caused by an error in the construction.

Emergency personnel were called to the store Sunday evening. The ceiling collapsed on the seafood counter and none of the patrons in the store at the time were in danger. But McKay said as a precaution the store was evacuated and power cut off until the damage could be assessed.

McKay said when it was determined that there was no load-bearing damage it was decided it was too late to reopen the store, which closed about an hour-and-a-half early. The store did reopen first thing Monday morning while the damage was being repaired.
