PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. โ€“ May 19, 2017 โ€“ The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Moreland to director of the Calvert County Department of Community Resources. She will replace Maureen Hoffman upon her June 2017 retirement after 15 years of service.

โ€œMaureen leaves big shoes to fill,โ€ said board President Tom Hejl. โ€œBut I am confident Jennifer will continue and build upon Maureenโ€™s outstanding commitment to the health and human services issues facing our countyโ€™s most vulnerable citizens.โ€

โ€œI am passionate about the well-being of people in the community,โ€ shared Moreland. โ€œWith my background in collaboration and data-driven planning, I look forward to
working with the Board of County Commissioners, county department heads and the communityย  to gain insight on the successes and challenges they face in their work on behalf of our citizens.โ€

Moreland has been the Calvert County Department of Community Resources Family Network Coordinator for the past two years. In her current role, she manages multiple state grants and secures funding for social programs that improve the well-being of children, youth, and families in Calvert County.

Before joining Calvert County Government, Moreland was with the United Way of Calvert County where she served as director of community impact and the โ€˜Success by 6โ€™ coordinator. She earned a bachelorโ€™s degree in Mass Communication and Communication Studies from Towson University. Her promotion will take effect June 1.
