A huge crowd gathered for the July 3rd evening concert, extending to the farthest reaches of the concert grounds, while hundreds of boats bobbed in the St. Mary’s river.

Highlights of the evening included fifties popular hits, a medley from My Fair Lady, Mack the Knife, White Christmas, and You Ain’t Nothin’ But a Hound Dog. Music director, Jeffrey Silberschlag, briefly paused to present a document to regular fan, Marjorie Nystrom, celebrating her 100th birthday.

Wyle featured soloist, Hilary Kole, entertained the crowd with classic 50’s hits like Three Coins in the Fountain, I’ve Got you Under my Skin and Someday my Prince will Come. She joked with Silberschlag saying she wasn’t a good dancer and later teased “Now River Dance.” Jeffrey quipped “Careful the Governor will show again”. Maryland Governor, Martin O’Malley and his band O’Malley’s March, performed at the River Concert two weeks ago.

Fireworks followed a performance of the 1812 Overture.
