Fire officials are investigating a fire in La Plata on Jan. 16 around 5:35 a.m., in the 6000 block of Hawkins Gate Road in Charles County.
Firefighters from La Plata and Waldorf stations responded to the scene after a neighbor discovered fire coming from a 10 foot by 12 foot pool house and storage shed.
The fire was determined to be accidental as a result of an electrical malfunction in the pool house. The damage to the pool house rings in at $15,000. The damage to the occupied house was minor.
No injuries were reported.
