Deputy State Fire marshals have determined a December 1, 2006 blaze in a home located at 10010 Suffolk Drive in LaPlata was arson. The 2:05 pm fire caused over $3,000 damage to the two story, wood-frame home owned by Scot D. Lucas.
Two dozen firefighters from LaPlata, Bel Alton, Waldorf, and Bryans Road were able to contain the fire in the garage within five minute. There were no injuries.
Persons with information regarding the fire are urged to call the arson hotline at: 800-492-7529. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for igniting the fire.
