LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The Butterfly Trail Ribbon Cutting was a wonderful celebration of this amazing new addition to Leonardtown. Attendees enjoyed fun butterfly themed activities and treats and learned more about how to help these colorful, friendly pollinators.

Leonardtown Mayor, Dan Burris, and Town Administrator, Laschelle McKay, led the dedication that included an introduction of local independant artist, Eric Jackson, who created the beautiful butterfly banners and flags that can be found along the trail.

Then Mayor Burris, Laschelle McKay and Eric Jackson were joined by Town Council Members, Nick Colvin, Christy Hollander, Jay Mattingly, and Mary Slade in cutting the ribbon and officially opening the trail.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special event. For more information about the Butterfly Trail visit: https://www.visitleonardtownmd.com/butterflytrail
