The Tenth Anniversary Earth Day Celebration, in historic downtown Leonardtown begins on Sunday, April 18 and runs from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. The event will include nearly 100 exhibitors, vendors and performances. Admission if free.

The highly popular event this year will feature two stages for entertainment; one on the square and a second stage at the wharf along the new Leonardtown waterfront. Both stages will feature a variety of musical performances and dance demonstrations throughout the day.

Among many exhibitors and outfitters will offer various kayak and canoe rides from the new floating dock on the waterfront. There will also be a native plant walk, a tiger bounce, face painting and a great puppet show for kids of all ages.

HillSide Electric cars and the Leonardtown Fire Department will provide shuttle service between the waterfront and the square throughout the day.

In addition to human activities, there will be animal displays which include the Cosca Regional Park’s live birds of prey, the Alpacas from Nobella Farms and the greyhounds from the Greyt Expectations Rescue.

Many environmental organizations will provide recycling, conservation and organic gardening information.ย Area non-profits and service organizations will be featured and local businesses and restaurants will be open with many featuring Earth Day specials.
