Lexington Park, MD— A Lexington Park man has been charged with assault first degree, assault second degree, and theft less than $1,000, on Sept. 22 after police responded to a call with a male yelling in the background of the call. ย
When police arrived at the intersection of Rogers Drive and Missouri Avenue in Lexington Park a victim was located standing in the intersection with “blood dripping from his neck and down his chest,” according to charging documents.
The victim advised that he was involvedย in an incident with a subject known to him as ‘Bird”. The subject known as ‘Bird’ was later identified as Corey C. Contee, 45, Lexington Park.ย
Contee and the victim engaged in a verbal argument about money, Contee later stated, “You (victim) ain’t leaving my sight till you give me my money,” charging documents indicated.ย
The victim advised shortlyย after the verbal altercation,ย Contee later pulled to knives from his pants and began attacking the victim, cutting him several times.ย
Contee was detained and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detentionย Center. Contee’s bond was set at $10,000. At this time Contee has not yet been released from confinement.ย
Contee faces a maximumย jail sentence of 36 years and/or a maximum fine of $3,000.ย
