Lakesha Denise Savoy

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Lakesha Denise Savoy, a 37-year-old woman from Lexington Park, was arrested three times in April on charges related to drug possession and intent to distribute.

The series of events began on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, when Deputy First Class Travis Wimberly initiated a traffic stop after witnessing a Ford Escape fail to stop at a crosswalk. Savoy, who initially provided a false name, was identified as the driver. A subsequent K9 scan of the vehicle revealed amounts of fentanyl, heroin, crack cocaine, Suboxone strips, U.S. currency, and multiple cell phones. Savoy already wanted on an open warrant, was arrested and charged with CDS: possession – not marijuana and CDS: possession with intent to distribute. Additional charges included fraud to avoid prosecution, and multiple counts of CDS: Possession – Not Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

Savoy was released the same day on an Unsecured Personal Bond of $3,500.00, with a court hearing scheduled for May 16, 2024. Less than a week later, on Monday, April 8, Savoy was arrested again on similar charges. Initially held without bond, Savoy was released the next day on personal recognizance. A court hearing is set for May 28, 2024.

On April 17, following an extensive investigation by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Vice/Narcotics Unit, Savoy was arrested for a third time. Officers served a search and seizure warrant on Savoy, as well as a warrant at her residence. Numerous digital scales containing suspected CDS residue, suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, and Suboxone, packaged in a manner indicative of intent to distribute, were recovered from the residence.

Savoy was charged with three felony counts of CDS possession with intent to distribute and multiple counts of CDS: Possession – Not Cannabis. She is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, with a bond review scheduled for April 18, at 1:00 p.m. A preliminary court hearing is set for May 14, 2024.

This afternoon, April 18, Judge Cooper denied bond.

  1. Force her to ingest all the drugs they found.
And 3x?? I guess Joe gets the blame for this one.

  2. A lot of campaign promises were made last time, but yet I see the system is still broken, as are those who campaigned. We vote in May.

    1. Lol voting is a scam, politicians are crooks and liars! Voting doesn’t change anything, you’re only electing people to make them rich off your tax dollars

  3. Who released her the second time…on her own recognizance? She obviously proved at that point she was going to keep breaking the law. Or did they release her in hopes of catching a ‘bigger fish’?

  4. Wow these people just keep getting arrested and then getting released. No wonder why crime in St. Mary’s is out of control. Way to go! Get these judges out of office!

  5. It is time we start charging these scum with attempted murder charges. Let her drug profits get siphoned away by a lawyer trying to get her outta that. It is in the very least reckless endangerment. She is profiting from selling poison. Start tracing the substances back to them. Charge her accordingly. There should be NO BOND after 3rd offense, she’s just gonna go sell more drugs; therefore represents a very clear and present danger to the community at large. $3500 is laughable couple days hustle for this bottom-feeder. The heck are we DOING, SMC?
