I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with Managing Partner, Robert W. Askey, CPA, CFE, CFFA, CGMA of Askey, Askey & Associates, CPA, LLC.

Askey, Askey & Associates, CPA, LLC main office is located in the W.M. Davis professional plaza in Leonardtown, MD and they have a second location in La Plata, MD on Centennial Street. I was greeted by a gaggle of friendly geese in the parking lot, a quiet reception area and a lot of smiles. Judy Murphy, my initial contact, is comfortable to the degree that I felt we had already been friends for years.  It was amazing to me that the office didn’t really seem much like an office at all, just a relaxed, classy and established firm focusing on tax, auditing, accounting, and business growth in the Southern Maryland area.

Bob Askey and his wife of 25 years, Catherine Askey, CPA, CVA, ABV, CGMA, have been business partners for 20 years.  Askey, Askey & Associates is currently celebrating 15 Years of Excellence in Tax, Finance & Accounting Services.  I enjoyed listening to Bob refer to Cathy as his partner in both home and professional situations. The couple has two children, their eldest daughter Caitlyn is currently in her second year of college and their son Sam is a junior at Chopticon High School.  Bob said more than once, the key to having their marriage thrive was the mutual understanding of the dedication, time and intensity needed to provide the level of perfection demanded both at work and at home.  Bob and Cathy Askey, while maintaining an equitable balance between work and family, have a visible admiration for each other and the work it took to build this firm together.
