HOLLYWOOD, Md. – Superheroes surround us, not just on the big screen, but in our everyday lives. Military, police, firefighters, first responders, doctors, nurses, and teachers can all be called superheroes.

Local magician, Reggie Rice, has found superpowers in the magic of laughter. For years, children and their families know Rice is there to spring into action when his magical powers are needed, making Rice a local celebrity within the Southern Maryland community.

“Reggie’s ability to put smiles on our student’s faces at a time when we needed it the most is what I am most grateful for.  He really came through for our Great Mills school community” – Dr. Jake Heibel, principal GMHS.

Rice has been performing magic since 2003. For the past 15 years, he has worked hard to build his reputation as Southern Maryland’s Best Entertainer. Rice has performed at numerous events all over the community from county fairs, festivals, Blue Crabs games, corporate picnics, holiday parties, weddings, and hundreds of birthday parties over the years, you name it he has done it.

Earning the title of three-time D.C. Comedy Magician of the Year from “ing 50” of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Rice has toured the U.S. Virgin Islands, appeared on the Travel Channel, and has had the distinct honor of performing before The First Lady of the United States for the last six years.

“Reggie Rice has helped to bring smiles to the faces of our patients and families. His uplifting and interactive magic shows provide invaluable positive interactions that often leave a lasting impression for our kids.” – Dana Kristina-joi Morgan, Children’s National medical center.

In 2010, his passion for performing took a turn when he was asked to use his magical powers for a good cause. Although he had donated his performance to many worth events prior, this was the first time Rice was asked to use his show to help a organization raise funds for a good cause by selling tickets to his show. The Win-Win Magical Fundraiser was born.

Rice has also been very passionate about helping individual families who are battling childhood cancers or having to deal with the expenses for a funeral.

Since then, Rice has helped dozens of organizations all over the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area including the Relay for Life, Down Syndrome Association, Children’s National Medical Center, the ARC of Southern Maryland, churches and schools.

“Reggie has been a staunch supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life for many years. He draws people in when he performs, which helps get people to our events and ultimately helps us with our fundraising efforts.” – Joanne Goldwater, Relay for life Events Chair.

The list keep growing every year. Rice’s Brand new show, Fool of Illusions will surely dazzle audiences, having them scratching their heads, and rolling with laughter. This show has been compared to shows you might see in Las Vegas. There is no other show like it in the DMV.

Rice’s shows are filled with magic, music, and comedy that take the audiences on a magical adventure into Rice’s wild imagination. This award winning family friendly, 90-minute performance connects with the audience with his foolish antics and lovable personality with pure fun and excitement.

“Reggie’s show is something our school highly anticipated every other year. Truly enjoyed by all.” – Susan McDonough, Principal St.John’s School

Rice ends every show with a play on words, “Have A Rice Day”, which Rice defines as spreading the magic of laughter with a smile and make others happy every chance you get. That’s how you Have a Rice Day!
