TheBAYNET.com recently spotlighted local mowers Jason Brown and Wally Bender in a story about the Bowles Farm Lawn Mower races.

Earlier this month, the pair went to Illinois to compete in their last race and earn points before the national championships in Ohio on Labor Day weekend.

Brown said his performance was โ€œpretty goodโ€ out in Illinois. โ€œI had a little bit of bad luck but overall it turned out to be a pretty good weekend out there.โ€

Out of six races, Brown placed within the top five five times and had one win.

Bender had a pretty good weekend too, with the points from Illinois placing him sixth nationally in SP class racing going into the championships.

Brownโ€™s points have him tied for first in the BP class with three other racers, giving him a good chance to become the National Champion in his class.

The two will travel to Ohio this weekend to vie for glory and the title of National Lawn Mower Champions.
