NASCAR:
Just a little more than 2 days removed from the latest NASCAR weekend in Michigan and Mid Ohio, the boys of summer are hard at it again tonight, hitting the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway. In one of the best doubleheaders of the season, the NASCAR Whelan Modified and Camping World Truck Series converge on Thunder Valley later this evening, kicking off a great weekend of NASCAR racing. The Modifieds will take center stage first as the best from the north and south will battle for bragging rights in the Titan Roof 100.Ryan Preece and George Brunnhoelzel III lead the points in their respective series. Later in the evening, the Camping World Truck Series take to the 36 degree banking for the UNOH 200. Matt Crafton holds a point lead over Jeb Burton with Michigan winner James Buescher now third in the standings. The Nationwide series will be running the Food City 250 Friday Night while the Sprint Cup Series will take to the track Saturday for the Erwin Night at the Race. Bristol, Atlanta, and Richmond are the remaining races left to determine the 12 drivers in the run for the Sprint Cup Chase.

Washington Redskins: No ligament damage for Kirk Cousins
An MRI performed Tuesday on Washington Redskin Quarterback Kirk Cousins revealed no ligament damage, after the Redskins starter limped off the field after being tackled out of bounds while scrambling for a first down in the first half of Washingtonโs 24-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday Night. The team was initially concerned since Cousins injury resembled that of safety Philip Thomas, whom the team originally thought had a mild sprain. The end result for Thomas was ligament damage that will keep him out 4-5 months.
ย
Cousins should be available for the season opener September 9thย against Philadelphia. In the meantime, the team will prepare for Saturdays 3rd pre season matchup against Buffalo going with Rex Grossman and Pat White.
