Hollywood, MD – On July 4th at 8 a.m. the Sotterley Plantation held its weekend farmer’s market. This farmer’s market runs every Saturday through Sept. 26.ย
Currently there are seven vendors selling their products at the Sotterley Plantation farmer’s market. These vendors sell items ranging from organic eggs, locally raised meats and specialized jewelry. Each vendor brings a positive attitude and wonderful items for the community to buy. ย
This event is coordinated by many different people working for Sotterely Plantation. Much of this event is due to the efforts of Joe Goldsmith, Nate Ryon, Ana Harrison and countless others.ย
According to Ryon, “This event is just starting to grow into something bigger for the community.”ย
This is the second year that Sotterley Plantation has held the weekend farmer’s market, and it is growing in popularity. Every year the crowds and the vendors grow in size.ย
Everything that is sold at the farmer’s market is organic, something that Goldsmith really finds happiness in.ย
Goldsmith says there are two main goals Sotterley’s farmer’s market is trying to accomplish. “One the farmer’s market breathes life back into Sotterley as a working farm,” Goldsmith said,”and second it puts positive healthy produce back into the community.”ย
