Leonardtown, MD – Recently, a group of students from the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center in Leonardtown, MD took a trip to Ocean City’s Carousel Resort Hotel and Condominiums for the SkillsUSA Maryland Fall Leadership Conference.
This gave students a chance to earn their Statesman or Advanced Statesman Certificate by completing a booklet that was given to them at the beginning of the conference.
The students who earned their Statesman Award are as follows; Danielle Brooks, Kyle Cartwright, Catherine Combs, James Connelly, Gabrielle Foreman, Britney Hall, Jordan Janschek, Jordan Keenan, Bradley Morgan, Jesse Newton, Newell Rand, Kenny Southard, Bailee Wathen, Kayla Welch, Emma Wheeler, and Serena Wood.
The students who obtained their Advanced Statesman Award are: De’Andre Green and Ashlee Payton. Sydney Currie, a state officer who helped in planning the conference, mentored the students who earned their Statesman Award.
The Forrest Center’s SkillsUSA AM session leadership team consists of; Andrew Fowler, who is the AM session president, and Emma Wheeler is the AM session Vice president. The midday session consists of Bradley Morgan as president, Catherine Combs as Vice president, Kayla Welch as Secretary, Shai Ann Rochester as Parliamentarian, Eric Risdon as Treasurer, and Olivia Morgan as Reporter. The president of the PM session is Jesse Newton and Bailee Wathen is the Secretary.
