At approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, fire and rescue units responded to an accident in the southbound lanes of Route 235 at the dangerous intersection of Loveville Road in Oakville, for an overturned vehicle or rollover.
When first responders from Hollywood and Mechanicsville arrived, they found a single vehicle that had rolled and landed up-right with two occupants in the vehicle. The crews went to work stabilizing the vehicle and assisted EMS with patient care. One patient was trapped in the vehicle and the crews removed the driver’s side door to gain access for patient care and removal.
The crews utilized the HURST Maverick tool and completed the extrication in less than five minutes. Both patients were transported by ground to St. Mary’s Hospital; one with minor injuries and the second with more severe.
Police are still investigating the cause of this accident. There are preliminary reports that the accident was caused by a black Ford F-150 pick-up truck with Oklahoma tags.
