
SWAN POINT, Md. – On May 4, patrol officers responded to a reported burglary at the Swan Point Golf Course pro shop in Swan Point, MD. Officers learned that at approximately 9:35 p.m., on May 3, a male suspect forced entry into the business using a pry tool, and stole approximately $5,300 worth of golf clubs and golf balls before fleeing the scene.
During the investigation, detectives identified Garfield L. Northey, age 50, of Lusby as a suspect. On May 19, with assistance from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, detectives served a search warrant at Northey’s residence.Â
During the search, property stolen during the burglary was recovered. Northey, who was present, was placed under arrest and charged with burglary, theft, and destruction of property and transported to the Charles County Detention Center.
Following an appearance before a District Court commissioner, he was released on personal recognizance. Detective Bigelow investigated.
