LUSBY, Md. — A Lusby woman is facing multiple felony drug charges after a yearlong Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit investigation alleged she operated a cocaine distribution network from her residence located within 1,000 feet of Patuxent High School, using confidential informants, surveillance, search warrants and controlled drug purchases to build the case, according to court documents.

Temeka Uganda Mason, 49, of Lusby, was charged in the District Court for Calvert County with 13 criminal counts, including multiple counts of possession of cocaine, distribution of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, distributing and possessing with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property, and maintaining a common nuisance for narcotics distribution.

Yearlong Investigation

According to the application for statement of charges, the investigation began during the summer of 2025 after Drug Enforcement Unit detectives received information from a confidential informant alleging Mason was distributing cocaine in the Lusby area. Over the following year, detectives documented information from multiple confidential informants, several of whom independently alleged Mason was selling cocaine from her residence on Eastern Church Road and throughout the Lusby and Solomons communities.

Investigators also alleged Mason worked with several associates during the alleged drug operation.

According to charging documents, Mason’s residence is located approximately 516 feet from Patuxent High School, placing it within the 1,000-foot enhanced penalty zone established under Maryland law for drug distribution near school property.

Investigators alleged confidential informants arranged several controlled cocaine purchases from Mason using Facebook Messenger and monitored telephone communications. Before each controlled purchase, detectives searched the informants and provided official buy money before conducting surveillance of the transactions. Detectives alleged each purchase resulted in the recovery of suspected crack cocaine, which was submitted into evidence. Each transaction allegedly involved suspected cocaine purchased from Mason at or near her Lusby residence.

Surveillance And Electronic Evidence

Investigators stated they used extensive physical surveillance, electronic surveillance, Facebook search warrants, telephone records and rental vehicle records during the investigation. Detectives alleged Mason frequently rented vehicles, changed vehicles approximately every two weeks, and traveled to Georgia, Florida and New York, which investigators believed was consistent with narcotics resupply trips described by confidential informants.

The charging documents also allege investigators observed multiple suspected hand-to-hand drug transactions involving Mason in Lusby and elsewhere in Southern Maryland. In one instance on June 16, 2026, detectives alleged they watched Mason meet briefly with another individual before that person was later stopped by law enforcement. According to court documents, the individual surrendered suspected cocaine and told investigators he had just purchased it from Mason.

Investigators further alleged Mason commonly concealed suspected cocaine or alleged drug proceeds inside her bra to avoid detection during law enforcement encounters and used numerous electronic devices and messaging applications to facilitate alleged drug sales while limiting written communications.

According to court records, the charges were filed on July 11, 2026, through a Statement of Charges following an investigation by Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. An arrest warrant was served on July 12, 2026. Mason was ordered held without bond during a July 13 bail review. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 12, 2026, in the Calvert County District Court.
