Calvert County, MD — It’s been a rough week for mailboxes in Calvert County. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to two separate incidents where mailboxes were damaged.
On August 14,ย a deputy was called to Northwest Drive in Huntingtown for a report of damaged property.
Sometime between August 13th at 5:30 PM and August 14th at 5:30 AM an unknown suspect(s) broke a mailbox off the wooden post and left it laying in the grass. The estimated value of damaged property is $150.
On August 18, a deputy answered a call to Byron Court in Port Republic for the report of damaged property.ย Around midnight, the resident heard what sounded like a baseball bat hitting metal. The mailbox was damaged but no suspects were in the area. The value of damaged property is approximately $150.
