At 11:45 p.m. Jan. 7, TFC J. Linger of the Leonardtown barrack observed a vehicle without a front tag traveling on the roadway behind Hayden’s Auto Supply in Mechanicsville.
The vehicle stopped behind the closed business and the driver exited and raised the hood of the vehicle and appeared to be working on the engine.
The driver was identified as Willie Odell Battle, 44, of Mechanicsville. A check through MVA revealed Battle’s driving privilege was suspended.Battle was placed under arrest.
A search incident to arrest revealed a bag containing “crack” cocaine.
Battle was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, charged with Driving on a suspended privilege, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and held pending a bail review.
