PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Mechanicsville woman is facing multiple charges after deputies say she refused to comply with commands and caused a disturbance during a traffic stop in Prince Frederick on April 23, 2026.

Tinaihia Marie Campbell, 20, of Mechanicsville, was arrested following the incident, according to court documents.

According to the report, a deputy observed a red Chevrolet sedan parked at a 7-Eleven on Solomons Island Road before initiating a traffic stop after the vehicle pulled onto the roadway. The driver was later found to have a revoked license.

During the stop, deputies requested all occupants exit the vehicle so a K-9 scan could be conducted. While the driver complied, Campbell, who was seated in the front passenger seat, refused multiple lawful orders to exit the vehicle.

Authorities reported that Campbell continued to ignore commands, requiring deputies to physically remove her from the vehicle and place her into custody. Her behavior reportedly drew attention from nearby individuals due to the disruption.

A backseat passenger exited the vehicle without incident, and a K-9 scan was conducted. Deputies later transported Campbell to the Calvert County Detention Center.

Campbell is charged with obstructing and hindering, failure to obey a lawful order, and disorderly conduct.

She was released on her own recognizance following a bond review.

A hearing is set for June 18, 2026, in Calvert District Court.

Under Maryland law, failure to obey a lawful order and disorderly conduct each carry potential penalties of up to 60 days in jail and/or fines, while obstructing and hindering may result in additional penalties.

  1. Well in all honesty it’s not illegal to drive a red Chevy and be black, or drive in a red Chevy with a car full of multiple black individuals. anyone in that scenario would refuse commands
