Mechanicsville, MD – On June 1, 2015, deputies responded to a residence on Gunther Drive in Mechanicsville, for a domestic assault in progress.
The victim alleged suspect David Eric Bishop, 42 of Mechanicsville, became angry after the victim asked him to take a urine test for drugs.
Bishop took the test and gave it to the victim. The victim ran from the home and was chased down by Bishop.
The victim and Bishop wrestled over the drug test and were eventually separated by other family members.
The victim had visible injuries as a result of being taken to the ground.
Bishop was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
He was charged with second degree assault by Corporal J. Yingling.
